Team SASSI in Technovation Challenge

Al Qamar's Team SASSI participated in an international business plan competition Technovation Challenge 2013 organized in San Francisco, CA for high school girls. About 114 teams from the US and 19 countries participated. 

Team SASSI developed an android app for mobile phones which helps people find wheelchair accessible places. They also developed the business plan for this product. The team didn't make it to the finals, but plans to compete again next year InshaAllah

Student story published in anthology of children's writing

Student Abdurrahman Jamal's (Grade 4) story "Adventurous Turtles" was published in an anthology of child authors "Stories & Poems by 15 child authors" compiled by Victor Jasti & published by Humming Words Publishers.

Al Qamar shines at the 5th OMEIAT National Science Fair

Aisha Jamal won the 1st prize in the Middle Level Life Science category, Siddiqa Hussain won the 2nd prize in the Middle Level Environmental Science category and Mudassir Hussain won the 3rd prize in the Primary level of the Physical Science category at the 5th OMEIAT Science Fair
